SHO volunteers serve others through coordinated assignments in the Washington
County and Jamestown communities. Assignments are at more than 72 local non-profit organizations,
schools, libraries and municipalities' local offices. Special focus is given to matching
volunteer interest and skills with the agency's needs.
Positions include assignments such as:
- Tour Guides and Greeters
- Data Processing
- General Office Duties
- Gardening
- Patient Care
- Meal Sites (kitchen at senior center or homeless shelters)
- Help with URI Oceanography projects
- and many others
