Our volunteers provide services to seniors, youth, and the community at large. Our MissionTo encourage the spirit of volunteerism and service in the elder population, and to provide programs designed to meet the specific needs of all ages within our community.
Company ProfileSeniors Helping Others (SHO) is a non-profit organization of volunteers throughout Washington County and Jamestown, Rhode Island giving special attention to match volunteers with appropriate placements. SHO is funded by the Rhode Island Department of Elderly Affairs, the Corporation for National Service, grants municipalities, local companies, civic organizations, and individual contributions. SHO is United Way Agency # 8150 SHO is the part of the national network of Retired and Senior Volunteer Programs (RSVP) that covers southern Rhode Island. Currently SHO has over 700 registered volunteers serving in over 72 locations throughout Washington County and Jamestown, RI. We believe that volunteerism is doubly beneficial: Volunteers, especially seniors, remain in the mainstream of community life by staying physically and mentally active.The entire community benefits from the valuable services volunteers provide to others.
